MatrixOrigin was founded with a clear conviction: the AI era demands a fundamentally new data foundation. Existing data stacks were built for a world of structured queries and siloed workloads — not for the multimodal, real-time, AI-native demands that define today's enterprise.

Our core team comes from Tencent Cloud, VMware, and other leading technology companies, bringing deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, and AI infrastructure. We set out to build what didn't exist: a single platform that unifies transactional, analytical, and AI workloads — eliminating the data fragmentation that holds enterprises back.
